James DeGale has reclaimed his IBF super-middleweight world title after beating Caleb Truax in a rematch. But questions remain. Chris Eubank Jr was firmly outboxed by George Groves but this would be a huge fight for DeGale, especially with World Boxing Super Series on going.
Groves is tied into the World Boxing Super Series, trying to recover from a dislocated shoulder in time for the final. But Groves fighting DeGale, his great long term rival, will always appeal to the British public.
3. David Benavidez
Before Truax stalled DeGale’s progress, the Briton was looking to unify against WBC super-middle champion David Benavidez.
4. Gilberto Ramirez
Another world champion, with an increasingly high profile in Mexico and America boxing on ESPN, although it might be hard for the Al Haymon advised DeGale to make a fight with Top Rank promoted Ramirez.
5. Badou Jack
The two fought to an exciting draw in New York last year. DeGale could move up to light-heavy to hunt down a decider with Jack.
