Frank Warren says Daniel Dubois could be involved in a belated Christmas “cracker” early next year, albeit without revealing a specific date or location.
The 29-year-old retained his WBO title earlier this month, scoring a second-round finish over Fabio Wardley after winning their first encounter, in May, via an 11th-round stoppage.
Back then, Dubois became a two-time world champion after surviving two early knockdowns, whereas their rematch was entirely one-sided from start to finish.
As a result, many have identified the Londoner as the world’s leading heavyweight, despite Oleksandr Usyk remaining the lineal champion after vacating his belts in June.
Equally, Dubois has not yet proven to be head and shoulders above WBC champion Agit Kabayel, or even Filip Hrgovic, who was enjoying considerable success before getting stopped on cuts when they collided in 2024.
A unification match with either man would therefore make perfect sense but, before that, Dubois may end up defending his belt against former world champion Joseph Parker.
Speaking with The Boxing Show, promoter Warren said the pair could revisit their showdown which, originally, was supposed to take place in February 2025.
“I can’t say [whether it will happen] at this moment, but it’s a bloody good fight, isn’t it? It’s a cracker of a fight. They were supposed to fight in Riyadh [Saudi Arabia], if you remember. Daniel pulled out two days before due to illness.”
Parker is seemingly clear to fight after his suspension – for testing positive for cocaine following his 11th-round stoppage defeat to Wardley in October 2025 – was lifted by UK Anti-Doping this past August.
As for a possible encounter with Dubois, several reports have named January 30 as a potential date for either London or Manchester.
