Tyson Fury has left very little to the imagination – regarding his physical condition, that is – as he alludes to a possible comeback fight in 2026.

The 37-year-old has not fought since suffering a second points defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024, which came roughly a month before the sudden announcement of his retirement.

Prior to that, many felt that Fury, despite losing to his heavyweight rival on two occasions, was not a million miles removed from his prime. He gave an encouraging account of himself in their first encounter, banking several of the early rounds, before Usyk eventually took control and claimed a split decision victory in May 2024.

Again, Fury kept it competitive in their rematch later that year, but a more measured performance from Usyk ultimately saw him land a unanimous decision.

With the period of inactivity that followed, it is now difficult to gauge how ‘The Gypsy King’ will perform if and when he returns to the ring. Positive updates from both himself and promoter Frank Warren suggest he will be doing so in the first half of 2026.

New training footage has now shown the Morecambe man pounding the pads and having a light move around with heavyweight contender Kevin Lerena in Thailand. Based purely on the video, it appears that Fury has a way to go to get into fighting shape, but it certainly looks like the desire is there. Fans said as much, with many commenting how hefty the two-time champion looks in the clip – not unusual before a true training camp begins.

News is expected soon on Fury’s next move, with some tentative links to Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov should he follow through on his plan to return.
