IT’S reported that two men have been charged following the horrific amonia attack on Michael Watson in February.

The 52-year-old, who was with his carer and best friend Lennard Ballack, was sprayed with the liquid and dragged from his car to spark outrage in the boxing community.

Watson – a former Commonwealth middleweight champion who was forced into retirement after being badly injured in a 1991 bout with Chris Eubank – was left traumatised and scarred. Ballack, who suffered injuries to the head and eyes, was hospitalised alongside him.

According to reports on MailOnline, Simon Luck, 28, and Paul Samuels, 30, have both been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

Mr Luck, of Manor Park, east London, has been handed the additional charge of actual bodily harm and two counts of possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply. Mr Samuels, also of Manor Park, was also charged with possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent. They were also named in a separate acid attack that left a 19-year-old blind.

They appeared at Thames Magistrates Court on October 4 and will remain in custody until they next face court at Snaresbrook on November 1.
