Tim Tsyzu scored a career-best win as he put an end to the tremendous career of former unified welterweight world champion Errol Spence Jr last month, and now the Australian has made it clear who he wants next.
The middleweight division was perceived to be dormant but suddenly there is an array of talent flocking to the 160lb scene, with Tszyu and Spence each moving up in weight for their New South Wales clash four weeks ago.
Tszyu claimed a unanimous-decision on home soil, in what was his first fight with Aussie boxing icon Jeff Fenech acting as lead trainer, before Spence announced that he was hanging up the gloves in his post-fight interview.
Then, Tszyu revealed plans to become a two-division world champion, as the former WBO super-welterweight ruler called for a shot at WBA middleweight world champion Erislandy Lara, with a December fight date being whispered in the days that followed.
However, in a clip captured by Julius Julianis at a fan meet-up, Tszyu crossed Spence’s name off of a ‘hit list’, before pointing at the name of Jermell Charlo and declaring that ‘he is next!’.

Jermell Charlo was set to face Tszyu back in January 2023 until he broke his hand during the build-up, but Charlo last week revealed that he and Tszyu were working on a location for their long-awaited showdown.
Despite both men seemingly confirming that contest, Charlo is also currently being linked to a scrap with Vergil Ortiz Jr, who is preparing to be the latest star to move up to middleweight.
