Miguel Cotto fight time and where to watch it

In his likely penultimate fight, Puerto Rican icon and former four-weight world champion Miguel Cotto makes his first appearance in 21 months. The future Hall of Famer’s opponent at the StubHub Center in Carson, California on Saturday night (August 26) is all-action Japanese warrior Yoshihiro Kamegai. The winner of this fight will claim the vacant WBO super-welterweight title, previously held by Canelo Alvarez.

Rounds scheduled

12 three-minute rounds.

TV coverage

With Cotto having recently signed with Golden Boy Promotions – who also handle Kamegai – this contest will be televised live on HBO in the US (9.45pm ET). Fans in the UK can tune in to BoxNation at 1.30am to watch the bout.

Undercard highlights

The co-feature sees WBC super-bantamweight champion Rey Vargas make the first defence of his title. The unbeaten Mexican faces California’s Ronny Rios over 12 rounds. Vargas is well known to British fans, having outpointed Gavin McDonnell in Hull to pick up the vacant WBC strap six months ago.
