Floyd Mayweather confirms his next fight won’t be against Manny Pacquiao

Floyd Mayweather has teased a “big” fight announcement after being forced to abandon three opportunities that were planned for this year.

The first was an exhibition match with former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, with both legends set to meet in the Democratic Republic of Congo on April 25.

Mayweather was then scheduled to face former kickboxer Mike Zambidis in June, when the pair’s exhibition was supposed to take place in Athens, Greece.

Along with those events, however, it was eventually revealed that Mayweather’s professional rematch with Manny Pacquiao would be cancelled, given that he was found to have breached his contract with CSI Sports Events.

By this point, the Tyson exhibition was reportedly being rescheduled but, with Mayweather agreeing to face Zambidis – and, in turn, breaching his contract – CSI decided to hit the American with a multi-million dollar lawsuit.

As a result, none of his planned opportunities ever materialised and, while the Pacquiao fight is rumoured to be postponed to 2027, it remains to be seen whether it will actually take place.

If it does, then Mayweather could end up putting his 50-0 record on the line and fighting professionally for the first time since 2017, when he stopped Conor McGregor in 10 rounds.

Until then, though, the Hall of Famer has claimed that his next outing – most likely the Zambidis exhibition – will be staged in Greece.

“We’ve got a big one coming up on the Wynn Records Network. The exhibition in Greece is next.”

Mayweather shared this update during a Salita Promotions show on Wynn Records Network, speaking as if the event will definitely be going ahead.
