Joe Cordina and Skye Nicolson added to Pacheco-Sadjo card
Cordina is happier and stronger at lightweight.

JOE CORDINA will make his American debut on December 13 at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, California.

The Welshman joins the Matchroom card headlined by super-middleweight world title contenders Diego Pacheco and Kevin Lele Sadjo.

Cordina, who now campaigns at lightweight after world title success at super-featherweight, faces Stockton-born Gabriel Flores Jr.

Promoter Eddie Hearn announced the fight earlier tonight during DAZN’s broadcast of the Kieron Conway-George Liddard card at York Hall. Hearn added that a WBO international belt would be on the line and that the winner could move forward to face the WBO lightweight champion.

If Cordina, 18-1 (9 KOs), is to become a two-weight world champion he will not only have to go through Flores but the winner of Abdullah Mason and Sam Noakes who meet for the vacant world title on November 22 in Riyadh.

Cordina, now trained back in Wales by Gary Lockett, got a 10-round runout in July against tough Mexican Jaret Gonzalez Quiroz who pushed Cordina all the way. His 18th career win was his first fight since dropping his IBF title to Anthony Cacace in May 2024.

WBO #4 contender Flores, 27-2 (8 KOs), is on a six-fight winning streak since losing to Giovanni Cabrera on points three years ago.

Skye Nicolson

Also added to the December 13 show in Stockton is former WBC super-featherweight champ Skye Nicolson, 14-1 (3 KOs), who now campaigns at super-bantamweight. The Aussie is plotting a path towards a future showdown against three-belt world champion Ellie Scotney. On December 13 Nicolson faces Yuliahn Luna, 28-4-1 (4 KOs), for the WBC interim belt at 122lbs.
