Terence Crawford has named the fight he would most like to see Shakur Stevenson involved in.
Before hanging up the gloves, Crawford was viewed as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport, thanks to memorable victories over the likes of Canelo Alvarez and Errol Spence.
Following Crawford’s retirement in December, many onlookers are tipping Stevenson to follow in the footsteps of his close friend and go on to dominate the sport for years to come.
Stevenson last fought in January when he claimed a one-sided victory over Teofimo Lopez to win the WBO super-lightweight champion, becoming a four-weight world champion in the process and showing he is capable of replicating Crawford’s success.
It’s currently unknown who Stevenson is set to take on next, but Crawford has made it clear on social media who he would like to see his protégé in action against, after he was asked which fight in boxing he wants to see the most.
“Shakur vs Tank.”
A clash between Stevenson and Gervonta Davis has been high on the wish-list of boxing fans for many years, though the recent activity of ‘Tank’ has left them wondering whether it is ever likely to take place.
Davis hasn’t fought since a controversial majority decision draw against Lamont Roach in March 2025, and he has subsequently been stripped of his WBA lightweight title.
It has recently been reported that he is in advanced talks for a return against former foe Isaac Cruz, and if that comes to fruition and ‘Tank’ is victorious, a potential clash against Stevenson would still be one of the biggest fights that can be made in boxing.
