ANTHONY OGOGO returns to Germany on Saturday (July 16) and hopes bad memories won’t come back to haunt him there. Ogogo boxed there in 2015, only to sustain an injury that sidelined him for the best part of a year.

He has however recovered and racked up two victories in May and June and will now compete again in a third consecutive month. He’ll box Bronislav Kubin on Saturday at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin on Arthur Abraham’s undercard.

“I’m looking forward to fighting in Germany again,” he said. “My last fight there was bitter sweet. I got the win but dislocated my shoulder in the second round. Now I’m back, I’m fully fit and I’m going to show the German fans what I can really do.

“I’m feeling fit, sharp and strong and have managed to put together two good wins in quick succession and I’m ready for my third. I want to prove I’m a league above and that I’m ready to face the best in the division. After the summer, I’m coming for the titles.”

Also on Saturday’s bill Britain’s Charlie Edwards has a tune-up bout ahead of his IBF world flyweight title challenge in September and Tyron Zeuge boxes Giovannu De Carolis for the WBA regular super-middleweight title.
