JERMELL Charlo against Tim Tszyu could finally take place in October.
The undisputed champion and number one challenger had been scheduled to face one another earlier this year but Charlo pulled out due to a hand injury. Instead of staying on the shelf Tszyu 22-0 (16) remained active with a ninth-round stoppage against Tony Harrison in March.
As for Charlo 35-1-1 (19) itโs been nearly a year since his tenth-round knockout over Brian Carlos Castano in their rematch after a split draw ten months earlier.
Tszyuโs manager Glen Jennings told ProBox TV News that his fighter will not sit around and instead will stay busy until his shot happens.
โRight now, we are just about to finalise another fight for Tim here in Australia, whilst we wait for Charlo. Things are moving along with Charlo in the right direction, but it looks likely that will be in October in the United States. We are not going to wait, so we will do another fight in the next couple of months.
โWe will have Timโs opponent and venue named in a week to ten days. It will be a good opponent.โ
