NEGOTIATIONS for James DeGale to rematch Caleb Truax are on-going.
DeGale, an Olympic gold medallist, lost his IBF super-middleweight to Caleb Truax in a major upset last year.
Frank Warren, who promoted DeGale-Truax at the Copper Box, is in discussions with Al Haymon, who represents both DeGale and Truax to make the rematch in the UK in the coming months.
“In the spring,” Warren reckoned. “We’re working on it now.
“We’re working with Al Haymon’s company, we’re trying to get it done.”
It’s an exciting time for the super-middleweight division if DeGale can claw back his title. His great rival George Groves just defended his WBA title against Chris Eubank Jr on Saturday, with Callum Smith rising on the other side of the World Boxing Super Series. DeGale against any of those countrymen would be a major fight.
