Former coach Joe Goossen is certain Ryan Garcia will return a better fighter

โ€œHE’LL come back with a vengeance,โ€ says Joe Goossen of Ryan Garcia, with whom Goossen split after Garciaโ€™s stoppage in April by Gervonta โ€œTankโ€ Davis โ€“ their third fight as fighter and trainer. โ€œRyan, with only 24 fights, took on a very wily, strong, unbeaten knockout artist โ€“ a left-hander, whoโ€™s proven himself over and over again to probably be one of the top three fighters out there today. That was a tall order.

โ€œBut Ryan beats just about everybody else โ€“ especially the right handers. His artillery really hits the mark against right handers. Itโ€™s a little bit tougher against southpaws. That said, Ryan will come back, and heโ€™ll be better than before. I guarantee it.

โ€œGod knows I hate to lose and he hates to lose, so that wasnโ€™t something we enjoyed; it was a bitter pill to swallow. But thatโ€™s different to a personal relationship. Thatโ€™s the business end of it. I understand the nature of this business. Nothing lasts forever. Sometimes it doesnโ€™t last for more than a year. Sometimes it lasts for one fight. Sometimes it lasts seven, eight years. Iโ€™m ready for all of the variables and I can live with all of them.โ€
