CARL FRAMPTON today revealed he has signed a promotional deal with Frank Warren and he’ll fight exclusively on BT Sport in the UK.

Announcing the news in his Sunday Life column, Frampton said: “I’m delighted to announce that I have signed a promotional deal with Frank Warren with my fights to be shown solely on BT Sport in the UK.

“This is a deal I believe will give me the best chance to have massive fights that I crave and I have been guaranteed that I will be fighting at Windsor Park next summer.”

Despite getting offers from the USA, in the end it came to a choice between Warren and Matchroom Boxing for the former super-bantam and featherweight world titlist.

“It really came down to two very similar offers from Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren. But after some hard thinking I felt that the overall package that Frank Warren and BT Sport were offering me was the deciding factor.

“They are going to have me as one of the faces of boxing on BT which is a real honour for me and that was never going to happen with Sky who obviously have Anthiny Joshua as their main man.”

It’s all change for Frampton – out of the ring since a January loss to Leo Santa Cruz in Las Vegas – after he split with long-time mentor Barry McGuigan in the summer, his Cyclone Promotions outfit, and his son Shane McGuigan, who trained him. Recently it had been confirmed that Jamie Moore will be his new trainer, while MTK had taken over the advisory role.

“I’m desperate to kick on and have a fight before Christmas and I can confirm that I will be fighting in Belfast. My homecoming ended up being a mess in July when Andres Gutierrez fell in the shower after I hadn’t made the featherweight limit but now I suppose it’s the homecoming 2.0 and I’ll have more details about the deal later this week.”
