FORMER two-weight world champion Carl Frampton has announced Jamie Moore as his new trainer.
Frampton, who parted ways with his long-time manager and mentor Barry McGuigan last month, had previously been coached by Barry’s son, Shane McGuigan. However, the Belfastman has now confirmed that he will be trained by Salford’s Moore.
Writing on Twitter, Frampton stated: “Great to have linked up with my new trainer, Jamie Moore. The start of a new chapter in my career.”
Moore, who also currently works with the likes of Rocky Fielding and Tommy Coyle, picked up British, Commonwealth and European super-welterweight honours during his fighting days.
Moore will be looking to help Frampton bounce back from the first defeat of his pro career to date โ a majority decision loss to old adversary Leo Santa Cruz back in January.
