A domestic dustup between Zak Miller and Leon Woodstock, which was announced just two days ago, has been added to the Jack Rafferty vs Mark Chamberlain undercard.
The event, promoted by Queensberry boss Frank Warren, will take place at the Altrincham Ice Dome in Cheshire, England, on August 23.
Despite previously being ordered to face Rhys Edwards, Miller, 16-1 (3 KOs), has since vacated the Lonsdale Belt he claimed with a majority decision victory over Masood Abdulah in February.
That win arrived just three fights after his razor-thin defeat to Nathanial Collins who, while shining brightly against Lee McGregor in May, has proven that he is a level or two above the British title scene.
Woodstock, 16-4 (7 KOs), meanwhile, was supposed to collide with Edwards last month, only for an injury to see lower-division veteran Thomas Essomba emerge as a late-notice replacement.
Nevertheless, ‘The Lion’ went 12 rounds with Kurt Walker in March, ending a four-fight unbeaten run – which he ignited following a loss to former world champion Anthony Cacace in 2021 – after finding himself on the wrong end of a majority decision.
In any case, though, Woodstock should provide plenty of resistance for Miller, who will no doubt be looking to climb up the world rankings at 126lbs before long.
Along with their featherweight matchup, it was announced that Paris Olympian Lewis Richardson, who came through his professional debut last month, will also feature on the Rafferty vs Chamberlain bill.
Elsewhere on that card, hard-hitting super-flyweight prospect Jack Turner has earned himself what looks to be a step up fight against Nicolas Agustin Muguruza, a fellow unbeaten operator from Argentina.
