Eddie Hearn has lifted the lid on his ringside argument with โarrogant f*****g p***kโ Devin Haney, which was picked up by cameras on Saturday night.
Hearn and Haney used to enjoy a great relationship when the American was part of the Matchroom stable but it has seemed to have soured in recent months.
And it came to a head at the weekend when Haney took to Twitter to claim that Hearn had snubbed his request for tickets to Saturday nightโs Riyadh Season show at Wembley Stadium.
However, Haney made it into the venue and was booed when he was shown on the big screen. Then, later, Conor Benn uploaded an Instagram video of Hearn and Haney arguing at ringside.
And in an exclusive interview with Boxing News, Hearn has revealed what he said to his former client.
โIt was heated,โ Hearn said. โBear in mind the relationship Iโve got with Devin, bear in mind everything weโve been through, I could not believe he would put that out on social media.
โI received a message from him at 6am on the day of the fight saying โI need tickets for Joshuaโ. He messaged 24 hours before saying โyoโ but I had so much going on I didnโt reply. When I replied on Friday night, he messaged me back Saturday morning asking for tickets.
โFirstly, all of the inner ringside tickets were pre-assigned with His Excellency and all those people, plus we had months’ notice with our fighters who put in requests that weโd sorted out. So at that point we just donโt have the tickets. So I said โitโs not solely our show, weโre just working on the event, you may have to ask Riyadh Season for the ticketsโ. I got no reply.
โSo then Iโm sitting there at the show and heโs like โWow, Eddie Hearn didnโt get me tickets, heโs so two-facedโ. So I just replied saying โyouโre an arrogant fucking prickโ. I pulled him at the show and said โwhat do you think youโre doing?โ He said โhey heyโ, and I said โno, not hey hey… what are you doing?โ
โI said: โone, you couldnโt be more arrogant, two, why arenโt you messaging me asking if Iโm sure I canโt sort something out? Instead you put a Tweet out? Youโre like a little kidโ.
โI said: โyou used to be a good kid you did, now I donโt like this arrogance Iโm seeing from you. Donโt ever do that againโ. He said that Iโd said something about him in the media but I was just answering a question.
โI donโt represent him, so if I get asked about Devin Haney Iโm going to tell you what I think. Iโve never said anything disrespectful but I said โyou have, so donโt ever disrespect me againโ.
โI had the hump about it. I just told him straight.โ
