REELING from Wladimir Klitschko’s stunning loss to Tyson Fury on Saturday in Dusseldorf, the former champion’s team will have to assess what went wrong and consider what they will need to change if Klitschko does, as expected, take the rematch with his conqueror, Fury.
Johnathon Banks, the former champion’s trainer, gave his verdict the fight, contrasting slightly with the sterner line taken by Wladimir’s older brother Vitali Klitschko. Banks congratulated Tyson on a “well-deserved performance, on a well-deserved victory”.
“Clearly the fight didn’t go as Wladimir and I planned,” he said. “Once again I thought Tyson did a good job, with his movement [and] his boxing.
“This is a boxing match, you’ve got to have a winner and loser. Tyson did a good job, he won. But I do believe that Wladimir Klitschko will be back.”
