Anthony Dirrell outscores Marco Antonio Rubio

AFTER losing his world title to Badou Jack in April, Anthony Dirrell picked up a comeback win over Marco Antonio Rubio at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, winning 100-90 on all three cards on the same bill that saw Jamie McDonnell repeat victory over Tomoki Kameda.

“I had an off night when I fought Badou Jack, but everyone saw my jabs and straight punches. I was moving and I was really catching him,” Dirrell said. “Rubio is a tough fighter but I was able to control the fight with my speed and skills. I felt really good in there.

“I deserve another shot at a world title.”

Rubio said, “”He was a very fast fighter. I tried to push and push but I could not find him.
“I love boxing. I will get back in the gym and train for another fight because this is what I love to do.”
