CANELO ALVAREZ will fight WBO world super-welterweight champion Liam Smith at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on September 17.
The fight was originally thought to be taking place in Las Vegas, leading many of ‘Beefy’s’ fans to book tickets and hotels.
However Golden Boy Promotions have today announced the pair will meet in the Lone Star State, where Mexican Alvarez will have vociferous support.

Given that many Brits had booked travel and accommodation, Smith was eager for his chance at stardom to come in Vegas.
The 80,000-capacity stadium is home to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, owned by Jerry Jones who had kept the venue on hold for Canelo’s next fight, primarily in the hope that it would be against Gennady Golovkin.
