TYSON FURY is the 14-1 fourth favourite to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year although William Hill have started to see a few โ€œmischief makersโ€ backing the heavyweight champion to win the award.

โ€œWe have started to see a trickle of money for Fury to win the Sports Personality of the Year which would suggest that there are plenty of people who are planning on voting for him,โ€ said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

A number of punters are backing Fury โ€“ who will attend the event – to finish in the bottom two, however. Offered at 20-1, almost half of the bets in the where will Tyson Fury finish market, have been for 11th or 12th.

โ€œFury is one of the most divisive personalities to ever feature on the SPOTY list and there are quite a few who think he will win it and some who this he will finish in the bottom two,โ€ said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Andy Murray is the 4-6 favourite to win the award ahead of Jessica Ennis-Hill at 2-1.
