Turki Alalshikh plans heavyweight battle for Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford undercard

THE main card for Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford is seemingly taking shape, with Turki Alalshikh even teasing a possible heavyweight feature.

In any case, Canelo, 63-2-2 (39 KOs), and Crawford, 41-0 (31 KOs), will square off for the undisputed super-middleweight crown on September 13, headlining a Ring Magazine card at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas.

Delivering the blockbuster event, alongside Alalshikh, is UFC president Dana White, with the two power brokers joining forces to firmly establish their new promotional partnership.

And with a view to elevate the night of action โ€“ which will be streamed live on Netflix โ€“ Alalshikh has already begun to plot his undercard.

While the Saudi boxing chief wishes to showcase an array of talent, particularly during the preliminary section, he is equally keen to put together three competitive matchups for the main card.

One of which, he says, could be a heavyweight offering between Jared Anderson and Jarrell Miller, with the pair expected to duke it out in a battle for the โ€˜Big Babyโ€™ moniker.

โ€œThe main card โ€“ it will be four fights,โ€ Alalshikh told Ring Magazine.

โ€œWe will have Canelo-Crawford, the co-main event and two [more] fights. One of them is Jared and Miller โ€“ if we finish it.โ€

Miller, who has previously tested positive for multiple performance-enhancing drugs, was supposed to collide with Fabio Wardley earlier this month.

For one reason or another, though, he pulled out of their contest and, in doing so, has since shoehorned himself into the mix for an opportunity on the Canelo-Crawford card.

Anderson, meanwhile, suffered a punishing fifth-round stoppage defeat to Martin Bakole last year, which, in truth, has removed much of the lustre surrounding his career.

Since then, the 25-year-old has bounced back with a unanimous decision victory over Marios Kollias, yet nonetheless displayed several signs of vulnerability through their 10-round contest.

Either way, it would appear that Miller and Anderson could soon lock horns, perhaps representing an intriguing matchup for most.
