Stefy Bull could face 16-year sentence for drug-related crime

Stefy Bull

TRAINER Stefy Bull has reportedly been found guilty of conspiracy to supply cocaine, with the extent of his sentence to be determined in August.

According to BBC News, the Doncaster man sought to buy โ€˜significant amountsโ€™ of the Class A drug via a criminal phone network, operating under the pseudonym โ€˜Yummycub.โ€™

As a result, Bull has remained in custody since February 28, staring down the barrel of a possible high-level community order, worse yet, 16 years behind bars.

Most notably, the 48-year-old plied his trade as three-division world champion Terri Harperโ€™s head coach for a number of years, but has also previously appeared in the corners of Maxi Hughes, Jamie McDonnell and Jason Cunningham.

In any case, though, it would appear that his life as a trainer will soon become a distant memory, with the evidence relating to a sizable crime being stacked against him.

According to prosecutor Sam Ponniah โ€“ as reported by the BBC โ€“ Bull had used the Encrochat encrypted phone network to communicate with Christopher and Jonathan McAllister.

The messages, which were exchanged in 2020, ultimately saw the McAllisters receive a sentence for importing Class A drugs in 2022.

All the while, โ€˜Yummycubโ€™ โ€“ later identified as Bull โ€“ had been enquiring about buying kilos of cocaine at around ยฃ38,000 a go.

Along with informing jurors of such information, Ponniah highlighted that the McAllisters had referred to Bull as โ€˜The Boxer,โ€™ while โ€˜the gymโ€™ โ€“ where โ€˜Yummycubโ€™ had asked one of them to meet him โ€“ happened to share the same location as his old boxing club in Denaby Main.

Naturally, Bull denied that he is โ€˜Yummycubโ€™ while appearing in court, suggesting that the boxers he trained โ€“ who would sometimes stay in his house โ€“ must have been responsible for the messages.

But further messages, relating to his home address and birthday, only created a more compelling case that Bull was guilty of conspiracy to supply cocaine.

Regarding his punishment, meanwhile, a verdict will be made at Sheffield Crown Court on August 26, with the sentencing range for such a crime having been set by the Sentencing Council for England and Wales.

It is worth highlighting, too, that co-defendant Benjamin Williams will be sentenced along with Bull on the same date.
