‘Spike’ O’Sullivan: Once I’m finished with Eubank Jnr, Golovkin can’t ignore me

Outspoken Irish middleweight Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan plans to beat Chris Eubank Jnr in order to set up a fight with Gennady Golovkin.

The 31-year-old fights David Toribio on Saturday [October 10] at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Massachusetts.

He hopes to fight Eubank at the O2 Arena in London on December 12, potentially for the WBA interim world title Chris currently holds, while Golovkin defends the full ‘Super’ world bauble against David Lemieux on October 17.

“After I finish off Eubank, I’ll be the No. 1 contender in the WBA and Golovkin can’t hold me off any longer,” he said.

“I’m an exciting, entertaining fighter who always comes to fight.”

Spike dropped a 12 round decision to Billy Joe Saunders in 2013 but has won five on the bounce since then, four inside the distance.
