LIAM SMITH will rematch Liam Williams on October 28.
Smith won their first encounter when they met in Manchester earlier this year. But the ending generated controversy with Williams halted on a cut after performing well in the first half of the fight. Smith will insist that he was in the act of finishing Williams, the Welshman considers himself unlucky.
This rematch will settle the score.
โThereโs not a lot of love lost between them. You know thereโs going to be some electricity in the ring, you know itโs not going to be dull. Thatโs guaranteed to be a good fight,โ promoter Frank Warren told Boxing News.

Smith is a former WBO world champion. He lost the belt to Saul โCaneloโ Alvarez. Now Miguel Cotto is fighting for that vacant title against Yoshihiro Kamegai on August 26 in Carson, California. The Smith-Williams rematch will lead the winner to contest that belt.
โItโll be a final eliminator for the title,โ Warren said, โthe winner of that, with a little luck, if he fights for it and wins it, heโll fight Cotto.โ
