KOVALEV’S persona will certainly give both his fans and his detractors the fuel needed to see a Sergey Kovalev vs Andre Ward superfight come to fruition in 2016. Ward is thought to be one of the absolute best pound-for-pound boxers on earth, and a man with a reputation as one of the nicest guys in the sport, and he has suddenly invaded the weight class Sergey has been dominating. Kovalev will not be friends with Ward, or business partners. Sergey reminds me of the great Marvin Hagler in that way. It’s all real for this guy, from beginning to end. And it never ends.
