Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will fight Miguel Cotto on November 21

SAUL ‘CANELO’ ALVAREZ will fight Miguel Cotto on November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The bout will be promoted by Golden Boy and Roc Nation and it will be broadcast in the USA by HBO Pay-Per-View.

The contest – which will take place at a catchweight of 155lbs for the Puerto Rican’s WBC middleweight belt – is one of the most eagerly awaited events in recent years as the two biggest names in boxing (besides Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao) collide.

There is no official rematch clause in the agreement, but both sides have reportedly verbally agreed to a rematch if it is warranted after their contest in November.

“It’s official,” tweeted GBP boss Oscar De La Hoya, who as long ago as last September stated his desire to make this Cotto-Canelo contest.

“The fight the fans deserve,” said Cotto.
