Queensberry Promotions and DAZN announce global rights deal

IN an interesting development for the future of British and world boxing, Queensberry Promotions, headed by promoter Frank Warren, has entered into a multi-year media rights agreement with DAZN. The agreement makes DAZN the exclusive home of Queensberry’s boxing events.

The deal kicks in on 1 April 2025 as Warren joins Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, Golden Boy Promotions, headed by Oscar De La Hoya, and any other of DAZN’s partners under a single umbrella. In theory, this should make the biggest fights and most anticipated match-ups easier to finalise. Time will tell whether this proves to be the case and what will become of TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport), who currently televise Queensberry shows across the UK.

Queensberry’s strong stable includes heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, Zhilei Zhang, Fabio Wardley and Moses Itauma, and EBU middleweight champion Hamzah Sheeraz as well as WBC Interim super-lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron.

The recent five-versus-five card and other cross-promotional ventures into Saudi Arabia have resulted in better fights, as Warren, Hearn, and others are able to match their boxers more easily than in the past. The new DAZN link-up should continue this trend.

As expected, the key players behind the deals had plenty of positive things to say about a move that should open doors for their growing roster of fighters.

“This is a brilliant move for our fighters and, most importantly, for the fans,” said Queensberry Chairman Frank Warren. “Their [DAZN] ambition and passion for the sport of boxing aligns perfectly with that of our own and we now look forward to putting on the biggest nights possible together.”

Frank’s son George, Queensberry CEO, added: “This is a hugely proud moment for Queensberry, as we join forces with leading platform DAZN on an exclusive basis. Queensberry has undergone an unprecedented growth period over the past 18 months and firmly established ourselves as a leading promotional and events company.”
