Pat McCormack and Harvey Horn knocked out of World championships

TWO American boxers were eliminated on the third day of the AIBA World championships. US middleweight Anthony Campbell lost a split decision to Ecuadorโ€™s Marlo Delgado Suarez, while Russian heavyweight Evgeny Tischenko beat Joshua Temple unanimously. All four members of the American team are now out of the competition.

GB light-flyweight Harvey Horn lost a unanimous decision to Russiaโ€™s Vasilii Egorov. Pat McCormack also lost unanimous vote, but on a much closer margin, to his Russian counterpart. Vitaly Dunaytsev, who pocketed a disputed decision over the English light-welterweight in the final of the European championships, took another win over him to put Pat out of the competition.

Irelandโ€™s Brendan Irvine (49kgs), Michael Conlan (56kgs) and Michael Oโ€™Reilly (75kgs) were victorious over and Turkeyโ€™s Muhammet Unlu, Brazilโ€™s Robenilson Viera de Jesus and Australiaโ€™s Daniel Lewis to advance to the quarter-finals.
