Who is on the William Zepeda-Tevin Farmer II undercard?

Who is on the William Zepeda-Tevin Farmer II undercard?
Zepeda vs. Farmer 2

WILLIAM Zepeda and Tevin Farmer go at it all over again this weekend, in Cancun, in a rematch of their ‘Latino Night’ fight last November. The first meeting ended up closer than expected as veteran Farmer pushed Zepeda to the wire for the Mexican’s WBC Interim lightweight strap.

Now the rematch has come around and it’s expected Zepeda will have figured his opponent out. Still, Farmer is so slippery and experienced that he has the potential to cause further issues. Let’s see who else is on the undercard.

Oscar Collazo vs. Edwin Cano Hernandez

Oscar Collazo’s main drawback is that he boxes in a division so low down the weights that only a small portion of fight enthusiasts tune in to see his destructions.

Fresh from an impressive bludgeoning of Thailand’s long-reigning WBA minimumweight champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong, Oscar takes his unified belts (he already held the WBO) into a double defence against Hernandez. This could be a fiery Puerto Rico vs. Mexico affair.

Yokasta Valle vs. Marlen Esparza

Following Seniesa Estrada’s retirement from the sport, the race is on to fill those sizeable boots. Two of her former victims go at it over 10 flyweight rounds. Esparza is a slight favourite, although she can blow a little hot and cold. Valle is consistent and resilient. She’s been training alongside headliner Zepeda. On a different card, this could’ve been the main event.

Robin Sirwan Safar vs. Roberto Silva

Last sighted sending former unified champion Sergey Kovalev one step closer to retirement, Las Vegas-based Swede Robin Safar gets another outing. Safar showed a decent engine and good fundamentals when outworking the veteran Kovalev.

Safar’s style is not spectacular, but that should be enough to overcome 36-year-old Silva, who has lost at a much lower level.

Best of the Rest

Featherweight prospect Gregory ‘Goyo’ Morales takes on rugged Mexican Jonathan Rojas Jardines over 10. Joselito Velazquez meets Adolfo Castillo Gonzalez, also over 10.

Celex Castro Olivares, Juan Carlos Camacho-Rivera, Ricardo Salgado, Cayden Griffiths and Erick Gongora Castro all feature in separate bouts.
