THE main event is a clash of heavyweight proportions. Pitting former rivals together once more in a stage befitting of an undisputed championship fight. Can Dubois turn the tables and prove that the low blow controversy of their initial clash in Poland robbed him of victory? Or will Usyk continue his dominance and repeat his win over DDD?
That’s the headline attraction. Considering the magnitude of the main event, an especially weak undercard props it up. Some decent names, light on big 50-50 affairs. Let’s see who’s scheduled to appear.
Lawrence Okolie vs. Kevin Lerena
Now comfortable in his new heavyweight frame, Okolie may have his eye on Dubois after Saturday evening in a battle of promotional stablemates. Dubois has already managed to find a way past the smaller, yet tricky, Lerena and Okolie will be seeking a statement win of his own over the South African.
Daniel Lapin vs. Lewis Edmondson
A meeting of two 11-0 campaigners from different worlds. Lapin, a member of the Usyk squad, is a tall boxer who has shown flashes of spite during his professional spell. Edmondson is an awkward operator who fiddled and fussed about Dan Azeez to claim domestic honours at the tail end of 2024. He’ll fancy he can do the same again here.
Aadam Hamed vs. Ezequiel Gregores
Another outing for the Naz offspring, who continues his ring education with a Spanish-Argentinian journeyman who has lost 24 times. Gentle steps for young Hamed, to say the least.
Vladyslav Sirenko vs. Solomon Dacres
Returning eight months after his first pro career defeat, in one round to David Adeleye, Warley warrior Dacres gets the chance to either put things right or get blasted away in similar fashion. The signs are ominous as Ukrainian Sirenko arrives with 19 knockouts in his 22 wins (no losses).
Lasha Guruli vs. James Francis
Little-known Georgian (the Eastern European country, not the US state) Guruli arrives on a major card with just one bout to his name. However, the 28-year-old has one IBA PRO contest under his belt and was a well-travelled amateur who boxed in the Paris Olympic Games. ‘Two Dogs’ Francis, 7-1, has been warned.
