THE IBF heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua has booked in the date and the venue for his next fight. It will be on November 26 at the Manchester Arena. Who Anthony Joshua’s next opponent, the second challenger for his world title will be, we don’t yet know. Going off a shortlist of three possibles, mandatory challenger Joseph Parker, former world titlist Bermane Stiverne and European champion Kubat Pulev, we asked the Boxing News readers to vote for who’d they’d like to see Joshua take on next.

45% in fact voted for New Zealand’s Joseph Parker as their favoured choice of opponent.

Kubrat Pulev, who has challenged Wladimir Klitschko unsuccessfully in the past (his only loss) brought in 33% of the vote.

The last choice was Bermane Stiverne, whom 22% voted for.

Oddmakers however consider Stiverne the most likely to get the Joshua fight. Here are Betway’s odds:

Bermane StiverneEvs
Joseph Parker2/1
Kubrat Pulev11/4

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Eddie Hearn has mentioned a possible matchup with Kubrat Pulev for some time but he’s weak in the market to be Anthony Joshua’s next opponent at 11/4.

“The betting suggests both Joseph Parker and Bermane Stiverne are more likely propositions, with the latter favourite to secure the bout at evens. Stiverne packs plenty of power and would be a good test for young Joshua’s chin. Similarly the 37-year-old knows how to absorb a punch and should make for a testing fight.”
