Jermall Charlo. I think Golovkin’s gone, if I’m honest. I hate saying it. It was a gritty, dogged performance against Ryota Murata but those early stages were a bit worrying for me. I think the pace would be the undoing of Golovkin.

Although some way off his peak I think GGG is still the best present middleweight but I do not see him beating Canelo if they meet at any weight class. I think Canelo is pound-for-pound number one.

Mickey Helliet
Manager & Promoter

Having seen GGG boxing in the flesh a couple of times, I know what a phenomenal fighter he is. Even at 40 I wouldn’t pick anyone who I would favour to beat him. Maybe Jermall Charlo who has fared well against heavy-handed pressure fighters but even he would be a long outsider.

Andy Clarke
Boxing commentator

I wouldn’t pick any current middleweight to beat GGG. People will say Canelo but the Mexican hasn’t boxed at 160lbs for three years so you can’t count him as a current middleweight.
