What do you think has been the best performance in Olympic boxing history?

Richie Woodhall
Olympic medallist

It’s probably too broad a question but I’d give it to three people. You’ve got to give it to Laszlo Papp, Felix Savon and Teofilo Stevenson. Each won three Olympic golds over three Games. Because to win three golds at three Olympics, making weight, having to box four, five six times maybe in the space of two weeks, it’s just superman stuff.

Tony Davis
Olympic coach

Has to be my idol Sugar Ray Leonard who boxed six times in all, clearly outclassing a heavy-handed Cuban in the 1976 Olympic final to win light-welter gold.

Lewis Richardson
GB middleweight
I must admit I don’t have vast knowledge throughout the history books but I remember watching the Kazakh welterweight Serik Sapiyev in the 2012 Olympics and he made it look all too easy. A special fighter and that performance stuck with me when I was younger.

Andy Clarke
Boxing commentator

Awesome question. I’ll stick with one from my viewing lifetime and say Lennox Lewis vs Riddick Bowe in the 1988 super-heavy final in Seoul. It was mayhem and to stop someone like Bowe after 43 seconds of round two was an absolute madness.
