Top 10 unbeaten world champions

Ranking the 10 best unbeaten world champions in boxing today

BN Staff

2nd December, 2020

Top 10 unbeaten world champions
Mikey Williams/Top Rank
  1. NAOYA INOUE
One of the most explosive fighters in the sport today, this Japanese “Monster” has won world titles at light-flyweight, super-flyweight and bantamweight, where he is the reigning WBA and IBF king.
  2. TERENCE CRAWFORD
A former undisputed world super-lightweight champion, Omaha’s exceptionally talented Crawford currently rules the WBO roost at welterweight. On top of this, he is also an ex-WBO lightweight boss.
  3. TEOFIMO LOPEZ
Brooklyn-born prodigy Lopez unseated the great Vasiliy Lomachenko to become the undisputed world lightweight leader and complete his “Takeover”.
  4. ERROL SPENCE JNR
In his last two outings, the sublimely skilled Texan has wrecked Mikey Garcia’s unbeaten record and added Shawn Porter’s WBC welterweight belt to the IBF strap that he already owned.
  5. TYSON FURY
Fury’s resurrection in the past two-and-a-half years has been nothing short of phenomenal. A previous unified WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titlist, the larger-than-life Brit returned from the abyss to claim the WBC championship.
  6. GERVONTA DAVIS
Floyd Mayweather’s protégé has made a name for himself in his own right by winning world super-feather honours on three occasions. A stunning KO of Leo Santa Cruz brought the Marylander the WBA crown.
  7. ARTUR BETERBIEV
With a frightening 100 per cent knockout ratio, this Russian beast is as destructive as they come. He presently holds the WBC and IBF light-heavy titles.
  8. JOSH TAYLOR
Stellar Scot Taylor dethroned IBF super-lightweight belt-holder Ivan Baranchyk, before taking Regis Prograis’ WBA title to earn unified status.
  9. JOSE RAMIREZ
Taylor’s WBC and WBO counterpart at super-lightweight is the all-action Ramirez. The quicksilver Californian unified the belts by stopping Maurice Hooker in scintillating style.
  10. JOSH WARRINGTON
The proud “Leeds Warrior” combines relentless tenacity with underrated boxing ability. Since supplanting Lee Selby as IBF featherweight champ, he has scalped the likes of Carl Frampton and Kid Galahad.

NB. Only full world title-holders were eligible for this list. Jermall Charlo and Devin Haney are considered as secondary WBC titlists, as there are Franchise champions in their divisions.
