Top 10 new losers
Luke Campbell

10. Bradley Saunders

Saunders losing his ‘0’ may not seem that shocking, until you remember his amateur pedigree and the opponent he faced, unheralded Renald Garrido. Nevertheless many boxers have had an off-night and still reached championship glory.

9. Tony Harrison:

The American made his name dispatching opponents in the PBC and on ESPN. Unbeaten in 2, that was disrupted by Willie Nelson, who has a history of spoiling records; taking John Jackson and 2004 Olympic silver medallist Yudel Johnson’s undefeated ledgers. Harrison has come back with a victory.

8. Dmitry Kudryashov:

Was regarded as a monster rising in the cruiserweight division due to his unbeaten run, knocking out every opponent in dramatic fashion. But that ended in his 19th outing, Olanrewaju Durodola exposing “The Russian Hammer” in a short and concise second round stoppage.

7. Amir Imam:

Amir Imam was heralded as a knockout artist, delivering plenty of flavour to the light-welterweight division. The New Yorker was an imminent mandatory challenger for Victor Postol’s WBC strap, but Postol took a voluntary defence; Imam chose to keep busy against Adrian Granados who overwhelmed him in the latter rounds, stopping the prospect in the eighth.

6. Cesar Rene Cuenca:

Only having two knockouts on his resume means he’d worked hard for his unbeaten record and on the verge of matching Rocky Marciano’s 49-0… But was stopped in the sixth of his 49th bout by Eduard Troyanovsky in the first defense of his IBF title.

5. Chris Eubank Jr:

Love him or hate him he was seemingly the full package for a prospect… until Billy Joe Saunders came along and narrowly defeating Eubank Jnr. Nevertheless, his future is still bright and he can overcome the stain on his record.

4. Zou Shiming:

Two-time Olympic gold medallist for China, Shiming had high expectations since his reign at the height of amateur boxing. The flyweight showed promise defeating some experienced pros, but in title contention, the master boxer was outclassed over 12 rounds by Amnat Ruenroeng.

3. Luke Campbell

The GB golden boy met an upsetting reality against Yvan Mendy. It was hard for Campbell to shift the Frenchman. The Briton went on the back foot and was careless at times which Mendy took advantage of, wrenching the perfect record from one of Britain’s most decorated amateurs to date.

2. Peter Quillin

Kid Chocolate was melted by the blazing Daniel Jacobs in the opening round of their unification clash. The shock factor came not only from Peter Quillin suffering a first defeat, but the fashion of it.

1. Vasyl Lomachenko

Heavily hyped due to his standing as one the great amateurs Lomachenko was woken up to professional boxing by Orlando Salido. Defeat interrupted his fast track to stardom. however the Olympic gold medallist still lives up to his awe inspiring credentials.
