  1. Jack Blackburn

A great lightweight and welterweight, Blackburn fought both Joe Gans and Sam Langford before finding fame while training Joe Louis.

  1. John David Jackson

A two-weight world champion while fighting, Jackson went on to work wonders with Sergey Kovalev, though also momentarily trained Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins.

  1. Robert Garcia

Garcia won the IBF super-featherweight crown as a pro fighter, but his work in the corner of Marcos Maidana and his brother, Mikey, in particular mark him out.

  1. Ricky Hatton

Arguably Britain’s most popular fighter in history, Hatton gained his first world champion as a trainer this past weekend.

  1. Emanuel Steward

A slight anomaly as he never turned professional, but Steward was a top class amateur and became one of the greatest trainers ever.

  1. James ‘Buddy’ McGirt

McGirt won multiple world titles in his fighting days and has carved out a decent career as a trainer.

  1. Gary Lockett

Lockett never managed to win a world title of his own but the Welshman is a well-respected taskmaster in the UK, with a burgeoning stable.

  1. Rob McCracken

A former world middleweight title challenger, McCracken achieved huge success with Team GB and now trains WBA and IBF heavyweight king Anthony Joshua.

  1. Eddie Mustapha Muhammad

The former light-heavyweight world champion has had varying success as a trainer, though has worked with plenty of notable names.

  1. Kevin Barry

Like Steward, Barry never turned professional but he medalled at both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games as an amateur. As a trainer, he has guided Joseph Parker to the WBO heavyweight crown.
