The 10 best twins in pro boxing

Listing 10 of the best professional twin boxing brothers

BN Staff

2nd October, 2020

The 10 best twins in pro boxing
  1. KHAOSAI & KHAOKOR GALAXY
The first twins to both become world champions, Hall of Famer Khaosai reigned as the WBA super-flyweight king for over seven years, while Khaokor was a two-time WBA bantamweight boss.
  2. JERMALL & JERMELL CHARLO
Another set of world title-winning twins. Jermall formerly wore the IBF super-welterweight crown and now owns a WBC middleweight belt. Jermell is the current unified WBC, WBA and IBF super-welter champ.
  3. MIKE & JACK SULLIVAN
Collectively known as the “Twin Sullivans”, Mike was recognised as the world welterweight champion in the state of California. The heavier Jack was a respected operator in the middleweight and light-heavy divisions.
  4. CHANA & SONGKRAM PORPAOIN
The successors to the legendary Galaxy twins in Thailand, Chana twice ruled as the WBA strawweight leader, while Songkram won an Interim version of the title, as well as challenging for the full championship.
  5. JAMIE & GAVIN McDONNELL
Jamie is a former IBF bantamweight titlist who has also held a WBA secondary strap at the weight. Gavin has contested WBC and WBA honours at super-bantam. Each have been British and European title-holders.
  6. JASON & ANDREW MOLONEY
Having vied for the IBF bantamweight belt in the past, Jason has a date with WBA/IBF bantam supremo Naoya Inoue on October 31. Andrew lost his WBA secondary super-flyweight title in June.
  7. LIAM & RYAN WALSH
Currently campaigning at lightweight, Liam previously challenged for the IBF super-featherweight crown. Ryan is a long-standing British featherweight king who is in the final of the Golden Contract tournament.
  8. HENRY & JIM COOPER
A British national treasure back in his day, Henry fought Muhammad Ali twice, including once for the world heavyweight title. His brother George, who boxed under the name Jim and was also a heavyweight, mixed in good company.
  9. KOJI & KAZU ARISAWA
While Koji was a two-time Japanese super-featherweight titlist, Kazu was never able to get his hands on the Japanese belt, despite having two attempts at the title (at lightweight and featherweight).
  10. PETER & SIMON EUBANK
They did not reach the lofty heights of their younger brother, Chris Eubank, but Peter and Simon still notched notable victories. Peter operated from feather to welter, Simon from super-light to super-welter.

The Charlo twins made an impression last weekend. Read more here
