Panel: Who would you like to see Oscar Valdez fight next?

A panel of experts considers what Oscar Valdez's next move should be

Panel: Who would you like to see Oscar Valdez fight next?

Callum Smith
Former world champ

Shakur Stevenson’s a good fight. I think Stevenson wins. But Valdez is a two-weight world champion, full credit to him. I thought Quigg-Valdez was great to watch. I think Frampton would be a similar fight. But to pull off that Berchelt win, if you’re fighting someone with Eddy Reynoso in the corner, jump out!

Tony Jefferies
Olympic bronze medallist

Tank Davis would be perfect but boxing politics makes that unlikely any time soon. So Shakur Stevenson would be my choice. That should be a cracking fight.

Mickey Helliet
Boxing manager

I’d like to see Oscar Valdez box Gervonta Davis next at a catchweight. That fight I think would be a modern day classic!

Andy Clarke
Commentator

The winner of Herring vs Frampton in a WBC and WBO unification. They’re all Top Rank fighters, so it should be easy enough and it would be a great fight, whoever Valdez ended up facing. And then WBO #1 Shakur Stevenson could fight whoever ended up becoming unified champ. What a plan!
