Panel: What’s been your favourite Carl Frampton moment?
Esther Lin/Showtime

Sunny Edwards
Rising flyweight

I was ringside for Frampton-Quigg – and the atmosphere in the Manchester Arena was off the charts. Carl was the ‘away’ fighter and both had big crowds – but his fans nearly took the roof off the place.

Paul Smith
World title challenger

At the first fight with Kiko Martinez, a camera whacked my son in the head at the weigh in. After the fight he said I hope he’s okay, Carl’s just fought against Kiko Martinez and he’s still thinking about something other than himself. It’s the class of the fella, which I appreciate even more than his boxing ability and he’s had some career, he’s one that I’ve always admired watching. I’ll remember him as a gentleman even more than as a fighter and he had a fantastic career, the stuff only dreams are made of.

Dave Coldwell
Leading trainer

Beating Leo Santa Cruz. Just that. I think that sums him up. Massive fight, massive performance. It was brilliant, that would have to be my favourite highlight of his career. He was a massive, massive name as well.

Chris McKenna
Sports journalist

The fight was dull but the build-up to the Quigg bout was brilliant fun and a clash I’d always wanted to see. The atmosphere in Manchester Arena that night was sensational and one of my favourite nights at boxing. On a personal level, always great in interviews too and a nice touch was when at an early fight in Josh Taylor’s career I was in the press row but my dad was in the crowd with some friends. When I told Frampton, he said to get him down as he wanted to catch up about the amateur scene in Ireland as he remembered he was a coach in the Irish set up.
