Panel: How do you feel about YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul turning professional and having a boxing match?

This week we ask the panel whether it's wise for two YouTube stars to turn pro and we also collect early predictions for Parker vs. Chisora

Panel: How do you feel about YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul turning professional and having a boxing match?

1) How do you see the October 26 heavyweight fight between Joseph Parker and Dereck Chisora playing out?

Wayne Alexander (Former European super-welterweight champion)

It’s a very interesting fight between two guys who still have something to offer at world level. I see it being a very hard-fought and close affair with neither man wanting to take much of a backward step. I think Parker’s slightly better boxing skills could see him winning by a close decision, but this one could really go either way

Andy Clarke (Boxing commentator)

If Parker’s on point and boxes a disciplined fight, I think he’s got the skills to negate Chisora and win on the cards. That’s what I expect to happen. But with Dereck you can never rule out the unexpected.

Ryan Walsh (Current British featherweight champion)

I’m a big ‘Del’ fan and always root for him. He’s a real throwback – just look at his ring resume. This is a good, solid fight, but it’s one I think Parker will edge on points. I hope I’m wrong.

Colin McMillan (Former WBO featherweight champion)

Dereck has been in good form of late and has the power to pose a few problems for Parker. Having said that, I think Parker’s extra mobility and freshness will see him come out a winner on points.

This week’s panel fancy Parker to defeat Chisora in London next month

2) How do you feel about YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul turning professional and having a boxing match on November 9?

Wayne Alexander

I can’t take this seriously at all. KSI and Logan Paul are not really boxers, they are social media stars. I believe anyone who wants to turn pro should have a substantial decent amount of experience at amateur level and not just one white-collar bout. Pro boxing is a serious business but these two are making it seem like a joke.

Andy Clarke

I’ve got no problem with them having a boxing match. They can do that every day of the week and twice on Sundays for all I care. But they shouldn’t be afforded the status of being described as professionals. Because they’re not professional standard, and we all know it.

Ryan Walsh

It’s attempting to legitimise a ridiculous event and I can only salute the thinking. Having real boxers on the undercard also goes a long way to achieving that. Boxing’s a circus and the main event will be a couple of YouTube clowns. Everyone will make money but it’s making a mockery of the so-called noble art. I won’t be watching but I’m sure my kids will, like last time, let me know the outcome.

Colin McMillan

The KSI and Logan Paul fight shows just how powerful the force of social media has become. Boxing on a professional level is dangerous and should be confined to professional athletes who have an interest in securing a longer-term career. These types of fights should be left on the white-collar and charity circuit.
