Mickey Vann: I’m expecting Chris Eubank Jnr to beat Billy Joe Saunders

WELL that’s two of my four forecasts correct, with wins for Manny Pacquiao and Tony Bellew at the weekend.

So all that leaves is Tyson Fury and Chris Eubank Jnr to win this week and I may have to change my vocation.

I saw Manny fight and I personally thought he was always going to win. I think the media tended to give Algieri a lots more credence than he was worth, only naturally to sell the fight.

The Bellew fight I didn’t see as I am not a pay-per-view enthusiast, although on paper it looked a cracking program but from the tweets or twits or whatever they are called there were a lot of dissatisfied subscribers who thought it wasn’t value for money. Well, I was in Germany so I didn’t see it but I was telling the American referee Lindsey Page about the cost of it and he thought it was a great price – they have to Pay between $60 and $80 for their shows. Like everything else we are followers, so maybe that is the next step forward, or back.

The show I will be watching this weekend which I am told is a sell out and one I am really looking forward to is Frank Warren’s show with Fury and Eubank Junior. The media strangely enough seem to be focusing more on Eubank fight than the heavyweight encounter with Chisora and Fury.

I think if Fury doesn’t let his heart rule his head, it is an easier one to foretell out of the two fights, and expect him to be victorious with maybe a stoppage about the ninth or 10th round, after maybe being sat on his pants at least once. Billy Joe against Eubank Jnr is a lot harder to call, but I’m sticking to Eubank to get my four winners up. He seems to have harnessed his power of late and sits down more on his punches. In this fight I can’t see Eubank letting his heart rule his head as he never seems to change his expression, it’s just that controlled and emotional deadpan look, and anyway he may not even have a heart. So you’ve guessed it, I am going for Chris Eubank Jnr in a long fight that has the makings of fight of the year and with a quality undercard.

I hope it lives up to expectations this week.
