If Vasiliy Lomachenko, Teofimo Lopez, Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney were in a tournament, who would prevail?

If the WBC resolved their lightweight title situation with a tournament, who would come out on top?

Teofimo Lopez outpoints Vasiliy Lomachenko

Lisa Whiteside
Commonwealth Games gold medallist

I think I would probably favour Lopez. Not only did he beat Lomachenko he also looked comfortable in doing so. Davis would be a real danger and like Lopez is a big puncher capable of ending a contest with one shot. But I feel Lopez’s height and reach combined with his power give him the slight edge.

Declan Taylor
Boxing reporter

Lopez wins. I think we’d end up with a Lomachenko-Lopez final and we all know what happened when they fought. Lopez is too big for the others at this weight and I’d fancy Lomachenko to beat both Davis and Haney if they boxed now. The losers’ final/3rd play-off play-off would be a belter too though.

Tony Jeffries
Olympic medallist

On what we have seen so far it would be Lopez. He has beaten Loma and has the superior record over the other fighters so far. That said both Haney and Davis are unbeaten and look like elite fighters so it’s a tentative pick.

Paul Ready
Boxing manager

On current form Teofimo Lopez but I do think Davis can KO anyone. There’s going to be as much anticipation for that fight, for Lopez against Gervonta Davis as there is currently for Spence to fight Crawford. I’d back Teofimo, he’s big and I thought he boxed brilliantly against Lomachenko.

Ryan Rhodes
Former world title challenger

What a lightweight tournament that would be. My money would be on Gervonta Davis. He seems to be improving all the time right now.
