After losing by knockout for the first time, Zhilei Zhang is set to make his return to action. Now, the hard-hitting Chinese southpaw has revealed a four-man hit-list for a potential April comeback.
In 2023, ‘Big Bang’ Zhang lost his WBO interim title to Joseph Parker but bounced back in style with a statement stoppage triumph against Deontay Wilder to thrust himself back into world title contention.
Although, last February, in his lone appearance of 2025, Zhang came up short when tasked with Agit Kabayel in a clash for the WBC interim crown, suffering a first defeat inside of the distance as he lost via body shot KO in the sixth round.
Since then, Zhang has been linked to a number of proposals, but the 42-year-old is yet to return. Speaking to Fights ATW, Zhang’s manager, Terry Lane, revealed that his fighter hopes to end his inactivity in April, against one of four big-name British rivals atop a London-based bill.
“We are now targeting early April in London for a fight I think the fans will love.
“I spoke with Zhilei today, and his 2026 wish list/hit list are the following: Daniel Dubois, Tyson Fury, Fabio Wardley, and Derek Chisora.”
Boxing News understands that Zhilei Zhang agreed to face Chisora in late 2025 of months ago, for what would be the latter’s 50th professional bout.
However, ‘Del Boy’ then opted to take on Dillian Whyte instead, only for that clash to collapse at the final hurdle and cause the cancellation of Chisora’s proposed Manchester fight date.
