YORKSHIRE rivals Tommy Coyle and Curtis Woodhouse could be set to collide on the undercard of Kell Brook vs Sergey Rabchenko at Sheffield Arena on Saturday March 3.

Hull’s Coyle and Driffield’s Woodhouse have been exchanging terse words on social media of late, which has led to speculation regarding a potential meeting next year.

Writing on Twitter this week, Coyle suggested that an offer had been made to Woodhouse, subject to the former British super-lightweight champion making 140lbs.

Coyle said: “Fatty [Woodhouse] has been told if he can make the weight he has himself a fight on the Kell Brook undercard. If not I’d like him to leave my timeline alone.”

In response to Coyle’s tweet, Woodhouse hit back on the social media platform, declaring: “Fatty agreed to all the terms and conditions. Team Thomas soon back-pedalled and disappeared. These are the facts, we move on.

“I told you I would do [140lbs] if the purse was worth it. I agreed a purse with your bosses, so I was happy to do [140lbs] to fight you on the Kell Brook undercard. This was two weeks ago and I heard nothing back, so we move on. I agreed to the fight. Nothing more I can do.”

In reply to Woodhouse’s assertion, Coyle once again outlined his desire for the grudge derby to be made. Tommy stated: “First I’ve heard. If these facts are correct, then let’s make this fight.”
