Yafai and Rodriguez make weight for flyweight battle

Galal Yafai vs. Francisco Rodriguez Jr Weigh-In

GALAL YAFAI successfully made weight for his top-of-the-bill clash against Francisco Rodriguez Jr tomorrow night at the Resorts World Arena, Birmingham.

The two flyweights both came in just under the 112lb. Olympic gold medallist Yafai fights for just the 10th time while Rodriguez will climb through the ropes for his 48th contest.

Yafai defends his WBC Interim flyweight belt knowing that a win against Rodriguez will likely see him face WBC world champion Kenshiro Teraji next.

The nine-fight card also features Conah Walker’s British welterweight title defence against Liam Taylor as well as Peter McGrail facing the familiar Ionut Baluta over 10 rounds at super-bantamweight.
