WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO’S IBF, WBO and WBA Super world heavyweight title defence against Kubrat Pulev, originally scheduled for September 6 in Hamburg, has been postponed after the Ukrainian suffered an injury while training in Austria.

Tom Loeffler, of K2 Promotions, stated on Twitter: “Unfortunately, the news is true that Wladimir injured himself in camp and his September 6 fight against Pulev needs to be postponed.”

The Sauerlands, who promote Bulgarian Pulev, confirmed the news via their official Twitter account and revealed that the rescheduled bout is likely to take place in a couple of months: “Klitschko injured. Pulev will have to wait for his shot at the world titles, likely the end of October.”
