PREMIER SPORTS will screen Manny Pacquiao’s next, and likely final fight, next month in the UK. On April 9 Pacquiao will fight Tim Bradley for a third time at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Manny will be returning to the site of his most recent fight, the 2015 extravaganza against Floyd Mayweather, the most lucrative fight of all time.

Bradley and Pacquiao also have history at the venue. The two previous fights took place at the MGM. Bradley won a highly controversial 12-round decision in 2012, before order was restored in their return two years later. Pacquiao won his that second encounter well, impressing with the style of his performance.

Pacquiao’s recent fights have been broadcast, in the UK, by BoxNation and Sky Sports Box Office, but this fight will bring Premier Sports back into boxing. The broadcasters explained their return to the sport.

“A few years ago we were carrying a lot of decent boxing but no A list events which meant it was hard to make work but when this opportunity came up it seemed like a good chance to begin showing boxing again but start with an A list event then try to build coverage from there,” Premier Sports’ Richard Webb tells Boxing News.

This could therefore see Premier Sports continue to broadcast boxing. “Yes for sure if this events goes well we will look to pick up fights far more often,” Webb continued.

The bout is taking place on the same night, though later on, as Anthony Joshua versus Charles Martin, which will be on Sky Sports Box Office. “Hopefully with our great offer of £9.99 to watch people will see it as good value and decide to make a double header of their evening,” Webb notes.

Premier Sports will be creating a special offer available to UK fans to watch the fight, meaning nobody will have to pay more than £10. Check their website www.premiersports.tv for details under the ‘Events’ page. The channel is available on Sky Channel 428, Virgin 551 and TalkTalk 526, and via the Premier Player live and on demand.

Next week (March 14-March 20) our website will host a competition where three Sky customers can win free coverage of the broadcast.
