LAST night, the squared circle gave us the birth of a potential new star at super-bantamweight, domination from one of the best female fighters in the world and some Texas revenge.
Shabaz Masoud, Chantelle Cameron and O’Shaquie Foster are now in a good position to land a big fight in 2025. But who could lie in wait for the triumphant trio, and what’s next for Liam Davies after his impressive run ended?

Shabaz Masoud and Liam Davies
Their amateur history created a professional rivalry in the build-up that felt real and was not forced to sell tickets. Masoud proved what many people thought: that he would rise to the occasion for his biggest test. Davies may have been too wound up and in love with the power that stopped his last three opponents.
Masoud now holds the IBO super-bantamweight belt and the winner of December’s clash between Dennis McCann and Peter McGrail is a realistic option. The division won’t know undisputed champion Naoya Inoue’s plans until after his fight with Sam Goodman on Christmas Eve. Matchroom may consider pairing Masoud with former Inoue opponent TJ Doheny but his team must now capitalise on this win and build to something even bigger.
Davies will realise what he did wrong against Masoud and a fight against someone like Doheny would certainly suit his style better.
Chantelle Cameron
The former undisputed super-lightweight champion looks to have found a new lease of life since moving to Grant Smith’s gym. Cameron put in a professional performance against Patricia Berghult and the result was never in doubt. The 33-year-old will look to the November 15 rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano with the winner very much in Cameron’s sights. Moving up to welterweight in 2025 to challenge Natasha Jonas or Mikaela Mayer for their world titles cannot be ruled out either.
O’Shaquie Foster
The 31-year-old levelled the score at 1-1 against Robson Conceicao after being unlucky to lose the first encounter in July. Foster regained his WBC super-featherweight title and will hope to unify in 2025. The Top Rank fighter already has his eyes on facing the winner of the rematch between WBO champion Emmanuel Navarrete and Oscar Valdez. Elsewhere at 130lbs, WBA titlist Lamont Roach is moving up to face Gervonta Davis, while Anthony Cacace may vacate his IBF title instead of facing mandatory challenger Eduardo Nunez.
