Fabio Wardley vs. Justis Huni Weigh-In

THERE was little to separate Fabio Wardley and Justis Huni on the scales as both heavyweights weighed in earlier today.

The England-Australia clash has the vacant WBA Interim title on the line with Wardley looking to back up his position as number one contender by picking up the biggest win of his career. Wardley weighed in at 243lbs, the same number he checked in at for his first, and thrilling, bout with Frazer Clarke. Huni, meanwhile, came in at his heaviest yet – 248lbs.

Tomorrow night Wardley will enter Portman Road, the home of his beloved Ipswich Town, with nearly everyone in attendance ready to roar him on. Queensberry’s Dev Sahni asked the 30-year-old if he was feeling any nerves.

“No nerves. This is everything I’ve asked for the last few years between me, the team, Frank, the club and everyone wanted to bring this dream together and we’re only hours away. Tomorrow night’s gonna be huge.

“It’s been a nice, relaxed fight week easing into the events. Seeing all familiar faces – family, friends all around me. But don’t worry the switch will get flicked on the night.”

Both fighters showed no signs of any nerves today and Huni, 26, says he’s ready to embrace the experience of going into the lion’s den.

“Love it, I love it. I’m soaking it all up and embracing it. Can’t wait for tomorrow night. Time to have some fun. I took this fight on six weeks’ notice and I’m here now. The hard work is done. Time to go out, have some fun and show this side of the world what I’m about.”
